The Blessing of CHC

A frequent warning in the Bible is to beware of forgetfulness. There is a danger in not remembering what God has done for us in the past. God warned the Israelites of this in Deut. 6:10-12,

No Greater Joy

When the Apostle John wrote to the "elect lady" in his 2nd and 3rd Epistles he comments in both letters about children. In the second letter he states, "I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father." This is the reason, purpose or "logos" for the Christadelphian Heritage College in Ontario. The aims and objectives of the school are to provide a Godly environment that will encourage Godly values and morality and will support the work of parents in developing a love of God in their children.

Cross Country Comments

Some comments from our recent cross country runners...

At the track meet I was a little nervous when I first got there. When I went up to the starting line I had the butterflies. When I ran it was fun! I ran my little heart out. When we were running around the lake I almost fell in. When I sprinted at the end this other person kept looking behind himself. I past him! I came seventh place! My other friends came 18th, 4th, 52nd, 12th. . It was fun! - Nathanael

CHC Money Tin Fundraiser

Welcome to the newest Fundraiser for CHC. Each family will receive at least one new Money Tin for all your loose change. Once they are filled please return them back to the Office for a new one and a tax receipt if required. You will be surprised how quickly they will fill up and how much money they can generate.

If you would like to hand out additional tins to family and friends please do not hesitate to contact Sis. Kate Wigzell.

Showers of Blessing...

CHC has been greatly blessed this year with a number of dedicated volunteers that have given up the comforts of familiar surroundings to work at the school. As of the middle of the summer 2007, CHC parents had resigned themselves to the fact that a Gr 7/8 program would be impossible for the 2007/8 year. Glenn and Megan Abel stepped up to the plate, along with Hadassah Mindorff, moving themselves and their two children from Virginia to Brantford for the year to run the Gr. 7/8 program. We would like to thank them for all of their hard work!!

Mizpah meetings

Beginning in September the young ladies at CHC in grades five through eight have been able to enjoy fellowship together once a week at special "Mizpah Meetings". The term Mizpah means "watchtower" and we emphasize how each of us can be watchtowers over one another. The meetings take place in a spare classroom with tablecloths, china cups & saucers, tea and lots of sugar cubes. The girls take turns bringing refreshments. The young ladies are taught proper etiquette and have a five minute devotion based on lessons from women of the Bible.

French co-op student

This term we have had the privilege of having Miss Brooklyn Gilchrist do her co-op placement for her grade 12 program at CHC. Brooklyn is in the French immersion program at high school and chose to come to CHC after tutoring some students for French last year. Brooklyn comes to CHC every morning assisting and teaching under the direction of Sister Ashley Robinson. She has had much input into setting up the French curriculum for this school year and Brooklyn has been assisting in the preparation and organization of a Quebec ski trip with the grade 7/8 class for January.

A Big Huge Thank You from Jolene

How does one leave such a wonderful thing? With great regret and hesitation!

In the late days of September 2002 I boarded a plane bound for what would be my home for the following five years. I left my family and ecclesia for a new home, not really knowing what I was coming to. Yes, I knew I would be coming to teach at Christadelphian Heritage College. But what would I be doing? What would it be like? Would I be homesick?

Grades 7-8 to be offered in the fall

Thanks to Our Heavenly Father we are pleased to announce that CHC will, after all, be offering grades 7-8 in the fall, God willing. Brother Glenn and Sister Megan Abel have volunteered to relocate to the area for a year. Sister Megan will be teaching these grades.
