Morning Devotion Thoughts

The CHHS boys took turns giving devotions on the topic of vineyards for us in December. In the first week, the vineyard of Matthew 20 was discussed. From this, we learned that the vineyard represents the ecclesia (1 Corinthians 3:8-9), the husbandmen represent us, the believers (Revelation 22:12), the householder is Christ (Luke 13:25), and the penny is the hope of righteousness which we have (Titus 2:11). Next we learned about Naboth's vineyard (1 Kings 21:1-16). Lessons from this are that we need to let God sow His word in our minds and to never give up the truth like Naboth never gave up his vineyard. We were also reminded that God is willing to forgive us if we turn back to him (1 Kings 21:29).
