Morning Devotion Thoughts

This month in devotions we learned about pottage and about the good or bad choices we can make everyday. We saw that like Jacob we need to make good choices and dwell in tents looking forward to the kingdom. However, if we live in a city it's very easy to get rooted in the world building for ourselves a place to dwell. We learned how we need to be aware and careful of what we put into our brains, because what we take in will shape how we act. We need to constantly be soaking in the truth and we must never sell if for the pleasures of life. With Uncle Dan we learned about sleep. We learned that we need to be careful with the amount of sleep we are getting because too much makes us lazy. Uncle Dan taught us that just like how we are not supposed to sleep too much we need to watch we aren't sleeping spiritually. Instead, everyday we need to work towards God's kingdom and His promises. Uncle Brian taught us about mustard seed, and how the mustard seed starts off extremely small and then it grows into a big tree. We learned that even with faith as small as a mustard seed we can do great things. We need to allow our faith to develop and grow like a seed and let it grow into a tree rooted deep in the word of God.
