CHC Lift-off

CHC can operate because of God’s blessing and the many, many pieces that all come together. In addition to the government allowing us to operate and the ecclesia that lends their building, we need parents, students, volunteers, and the spirit of Christ to make the school work. It has only been one day, but so far so good. Thank you for all your efforts to get the school up and running!

We are thrilled to announce that our school continues to grow at 66 students. This includes three new families which we give a special welcome to: Nemets, Suntz, and Joe Abel Families.

Our single biggest class is the JK class with 8 students. This indicates our school is only going to get bigger.

We have a few new teachers this year including Uncle Andrew Pearse (Gr.7/8 skills teacher); Aunt Hannah Young a former CHC student (Gr. 3/4 social studies teacher); Aunt Abi Snobelen (Gr. 5-8 art teacher); Aunt Kate Abel (High School Monitor and gr. 1/2 art teacher); Aunt Lola Puim (SK teacher).

We are also pleased to announce that our new playground is in place and operational. A big thank you to the playground committee and all of those who donated to make it happen.

A new shed has been placed on the Book Road property. CHC has its own entrance and room for storage.

We are thankful to our Heavenly Father to have this opportunity to help enrich the learning of our precious children.


  • Please call the school when your child is late or absent

  • Students are to be dropped off no later than 8:40

  • We ask that no parents enter the building without first making an appointment.

  • Lunch: 12:00 – 1:00pm. Students in K-8 eat lunch in their own classroom. Please remember there is no warming of food for lunch and cutlery must come from home.

  • The Book Road hall is not a nut free facility; students may bring items that contain nuts.

  • Dismissal is at 3:15pm, Kindergarten students will be dismissed by a personal “hand-off” from their teacher to parents. 1-4 students can wait on the grass by the hedge. 5-8 students must wait between east doors and hedge. HS students must wait on sidewalk.

  • School days are from Monday through Thursday.Fridays are home schooling days; please start early to develop a procedure by preparing students to complete school work on these days.

  • For the month of September, students are to wear their regular school uniform on Tuesday and Thursday and their gym uniform on Monday and Wednesday.

  • Kindergarten takes place Mondays (SK), Wednesdays (SK) & Thursdays (JK/SK).

  • Library will take place on Wednesdays.

  • We ask that the first parking space closest to the building on the east side be left for Sis Ashley’s van.

  • Please label all items belonging to your child - clothing, books & lunch bag.

  • Extra sanitization will take place mid- day and end of day including washrooms and other high touch areas. This will be helped by students, staff and other volunteers. Thank you!

  • If you are missing any uniform items or need to exchange for another size, please contact Cheryl or Emily by Friday September 10th (that’s this Friday)so we can place any final orders.


How good was the food at the CHC opening BBQ? Amazing is the correct answer. Do you want more? Place an order by filling out an order form that will be sent home with your eldest attending child. All the order forms are due back to school on Monday September 20, 2021 and include sausages, hamburgers, pepperettes, breakfast sausages, and more. The orders will be placed through the same supplier as the meat from the CHC BBQ.

What a great way to wind down BBQ season, get started on a new school year, and put money towards school events and supplies.

Feel free to include orders from relatives or close friends. The orders will be placed Sept. 20th and take approx. 2 weeks to receive.

The student who collects the highest $ amount on their Order Form will win a prize!
