Music class has started up again!

Morning Devotion Message

For the month of February, we had many great lessons spoken to us by various uncles. At the beginning of this month, Uncle Josh talked to us about lust and coveting in Matthew 5:27-30. Our hearts can be filled with many evil lusts and desires of this world. It is our job to fill it with things of God and to control our desires, as said in Genesis 2:9. We can achieve this by going to meeting every Sunday, listening to class and understanding what they are telling us, and setting time aside to study God’s word and approach Him in prayer. Uncle Frank then talked to us about keeping our vows. He told us that we are to think before we vow, and not to vow if we cannot follow through with it. Uncle Tom Colby taught us about going above and beyond and about “The Royal Law” as said in James 2:8, “Love your neighbour as yourself…”. If someone asks you to go a mile, go with them two. Finally. Uncle Josh McStravick talked to us about Joseph, the butler, and the baker. God never forgot Joseph in prison, just as He will never forget about us. “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So, don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31.

News

  • Presentation Night will be postponed to later in the year in the hopes that we will have more flexibility to share the joy, learning and experiences of CHC. This will allow us to record the students without masks, outside, in nicer weather if we end up having a virtual presentation night.

  • CHC will spend March 25th, 2021 to remember some of the lessons from our Camp Trillium books and celebrate together. Lunch will be provided and we will be sure to implement proper protocols; similar to pizza lunch. Other activities will be planned throughout the day

  • MARCH BREAK has been moved to APRIL 12-16.

  • All staff (those who have weekly roles) must sign in the staff book in the school entrance each day they arrive at school. Anyone else that has made an appointment to be at the school must also sign-in. For this, pls use the visitor book.

  • There will be no formal progress reports sent home in March this year due to the delayed in-person start at school and the limited formal evaluation in many subjects. Teachers will contact you if your child is struggling or in need of extra help at home.

100 Day

On Thursday March 11th we will celebrate the 100th day of school; in-person, virtual, homeschool or any other type of school day. Each student is not to bring 100 of the same thing to share with students as in past years. Instead, we will implement class activities revolving around the number 100. It will be a regular uniform day (no costumes & no fun lunch that day).

CHC Fundraising

Almost $11,500 was raised for the school from the Banquet Baskets and Virtual Fundraiser! Thank you so much CHC community!

Planning has begun for this year‘s Garden Sale fundraiser!

It will be a weeklong online sale with curbside pick up on Saturday May 8, 2021. We are looking for families to contribute or arrange donations that can be sold in our online shop.

A newsletter regarding Garden Sale and the ways in which your family can contribute this year will be going home with your child/ren later this month.
