Message from the Morning Devotions

Over the month of December we covered the topic of the kings of Israel in devotions. We learned what God wants from us in our actions and words, and what the evil kings in Israel did. We found that our path is a difficult one enveloped by fire, but not to hurt us, but to purify and bring us closer to God. As we are told in Proverbs 16:10-13, the kings of Israel were supposed to be righteous in their speech and actions and leave the judgment to God, instead, some kings like Tibni, Omri, his son Ahab and Jezebel rejected God and his will. They took matters in their own hands and made their own rules as well as led Israel away. Deuteronomy 17:14-17 states a ruler must be wise, godly and not lead people away but bring glory to God.
