CHHS Fundraiser - December 17, 2018
Message from the Morning Devotions
For the month of December, we had Uncles Rob Alexander and Don Pryer do our morning devotions. We also had the high school boys, Sam Robinson, Isaac Leadbetter, Jacob Robinson, and Joel Drywood, each do a devotion.
Uncle Rob showed us the difference between a hard vessel and soft clay, which can become a hard vessel. He talked to us about how easy it was for the soft clay to change shape and compared it to the mind of a young child. Children are always willing to learn new things, unlike the minds of some older people who were compared to the hard vessel. The older a person becomes, the more likely they are to be stuck on their ways instead of changing what they may be doing wrong. Uncle Rob told us to make sure we don’t harden our hearts and minds and become the hard vessel, but instead let God mould our minds like someone can mould soft clay.
Uncle Don began by showing us a question that is recorded in 2 Peter 3 v 11 which says, “What manner of person ought ye to be?” In the account, this question was directed in order to have others think about how they are acting in their lives. He also brought us to Titus 2, which says that we should be sound in faith and doctrine (vs. 7) and sound in speech (v.8). It is important for us to always act in the proper manner before our Heavenly Father. Uncle Don also reminded us of our hope, which is the kingdom, and he expressed this by reading the first two lines of the fifth verse of Hymn 383 which reads, “Rejoicing in hope and the joy of salvation, Father, we thank Thee Thy kingdom draws near.”

The Ancaster Rotary Centre Gymnasium (385 Jerseyville Rd Ancaster) is booked for 4 Tuesdays in a row starting January 8th at 9:00 am. Wear Gym uniform and bring dry running shoes. Students who do not bring dry running shoes will not be able to participate in the gym activities. ***DO NOT COME TO CHC, GO DIRECTLY TO THE GYM*** Anyone able to stay, help supervise & transport students to CHC following gym time would be appreciated.
We will be starting our ice skating program in February. Skating will take place on Wednesdays (Feb. 6,13,20,27) from 3-4 pm. and is open to homeschoolers as well as other young Christadelphian families that are interested.***No Cost for Non CHC Families***
Banquet & Auction
CHC banquet and auction fundraiser on January 26th 2019 is quickly approaching!
Please remember to have your class basket item(s) into your teachers by January 17th at the latest. The décor this year is French country if you are looking for some inspiration for your item.
Sis. Beth Abel is still looking for baked goods for the cookie table so please contact her (bethannabel@gmail.com) if you are planning to contribute, or sign up on sheets located on bulletin board just outside of the office.
This year the banquet committee is also seeking donation of new or gently used books for all age groups. These can be Christadelphian works or appropriate leisure reading materials. Please contact Sis. Liz Thompson regarding book donations (jeremiahandliz@outlook.com).
Raffle & Auction Items Donations for raffles and both silent and live auctions (Past contributions have included; homemade items, new items such as small appliances, artwork, services such as photography, handiwork, babysitting etc., please contact Sis. Hayley (scottandhayley@xplornet.com).
Volunteers are still needed for children care throughout the evening. Please contact sis. Tarah Solomon if you are able fill a shift (johnandtarah@hotmail.com).
January Uniform Schedule
For the month of January, students are to wear their regular school uniform on Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday and their gym uniform on Tuesday.
