Devotional Message from the Grade 3/4 Class

Today we are going to talk about wasting our time. When you play video games it’s wasting our time. If you do the Bible readings, that is not wasting our time. It’s like coveting. The Israelites coveted through their memory of Egypt. You have to say thank you. Greedy is bad. The lesson for us is we should say thank you when anybody gives something to us.

~ Lucas Alexander

Today we are learning about covetousness. Covetousness means you want more. Num. 11:6 says the people remembered all about the good food in Egypt and they wanted to go back! They were greedy. They wanted more food. The lesson for us is to show God our love and to do one important thing by saying thank you.

~ Jayla Krajcar

Today we learned about greediness in our devotion. Num. 11:4 tells us how the Israelites coveted. They wanted flesh to eat because they were greedy. V.5 tells us they also remembered fish. They must have been pretty big fish! Num. 11:31,32 tells us they were greedy with all the quails they got. They didn’t even say thank you! V.33 tells us they were smote with a great plague. The lesson for today is to be thankful with what we have and not want more and more.

~ Jacob Alexander

Today we’re talking about laboring. Labouring is good. Labouring helps give you food. An example of laboring is when the Israelites in Egypt worked for Pharaoh. In the wilderness the Israelites weren’t thankful because they were greedy when God gave them food they didn’t labour for. The lesson for today is to say thank you to God.

~ Rowan McKay

Today we are looking at laboring and coveting. Labouring means work. Perhaps you go fishing and you catch a bucket full of small fish. That’s work! Then you see another person with a huge fish. In your mind you want that fish. That’s coveting! Remember when the children of Israel were in the wilderness when they complained about food until God sent quail. They coveted greatly and never did the one important thing. They didn’t say thank you! God was upset with them, so he smote them with a great plague. We need to remember that God is the potter and we are the clay.

~ Zoe Abel
