September 2017 Newsletter


A warm welcome to all our new and returning students and staff.

May our Heavenly Father continue to guide us as we do our best to nurture His heritage according to His will and purpose.

This year’s devotion theme is “Themes in the Proverbs”

Please make note of the following items:

  • CHC phone number: 905-304-8222

  • Please call the school when your student is late or absent

  • Student are to be dropped off no later than 8:40, students are to enter the building, prepare for the day and wait in their classroom (teachers will have items for students to do), students will walk together with their teacher to devotions which begin sharply at 8:50am. Parents are welcome to come in to the building with their students and join us for the morning devotions if you would like.

  • Lunch: 12:15 – 1:00pm Students in grades 1-12 eat lunch in the 7/8 classroom lunch area, kindergarten students eat lunch in their classroom. Please remember there is no warming of food for lunch.

  • The Book Road hall is not a nut free facility; students may bring items that contain nuts.

  • Dismissal is at 3:15pm, Kindergarten students will be dismissed by a personal “hand-off” from their teacher to

parents.

  • School days are from Monday through Thursday. Fridays are home schooling days; please start early to develop a procedure by preparing students to complete school work on these days.

  • Kindergarten takes place Mondays (SK), Wednesdays (SK) & Thursdays (JK/SK).

  • Library will take place on Tuesdays

  • We ask that the first parking space closest to the building on the east side be left for Sis Ashley’s van.

  • Please label all items belonging to your child - clothing, books & lunch bag.

  • Any uniform returns, exchanges, or new orders need to be given to Sis. Ashley and take place by September 14th.

Upcoming Events:

  • Thursday, September 28th – Favourite Colour Day & Fun Lunch: students are invited to dress in as much of their favourite colour as possible. A lunch of cheese & bacon buns, fruit & cookies will be served; students are reminded to bring their own drink.

  • Cross country practicing will begin Thursday, September 7th for grades 3-8 and continue every Thursday at 3:00-3:30pm. The Cross Country Tournament will take place in the 3rd week of October.

  • Photo Day: Thursday, September 21st, this will be a regular uniform day. </
