Our School

Heritage College is a Christadelphian school located in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada at the Book Road Ecclesia (map). The school was established in 2002 to serve the needs of the Christadelphian community in Southern Ontario. The Heritage Colleges in Australia have been the inspiration for this school and the CHS in California.

God has richly blessed us through the years with a vibrant school where children receive an excellent education along with establishing the principles of a Godly life.

Students

Each school day opens with a hymn, a prayer and a devotion given by brethren from the local ecclesial community (Hamilton Book Road, Cambridge, Grand River, Hamilton McNab, Brant County and Brantford). The curriculum is based on the Abeka program and other material, with an additional time spent in Bible study.

The school spans Kindergarten through grade eight, and now also includes a high school program for grades nine through twelve. To begin with, there were 17 students. CHC is now home to over 70 students. The majority of students come from Christadelphian families. Regular attendees from Christadelphian Sunday Schools are also welcome to attend.

How Can You Help?

CHC is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization which depends upon donations and tuition to run. The school needs your help in two ways:

  • Volunteer Teachers – “Spend a year in Ontario” - During the past five years we have had two retired teachers assist full time and one assist part time. Two of these teachers have now moved out of the local area. We have also been blessed with the assistance of three young sisters who have volunteered their time as full and part time teachers rendering a wonderful service and gaining valuable experience. The school has been able to support some teachers by providing room and board along with a stipend for basic living expenses. If you are able to volunteer a year’s term (September – June) arrangements could be made for your stay in Ontario. Ontario provides rich fellowship for young people and those who are retired with numerous study days, young peoples weekends, fraternal gatherings, Bible Schools and the like. If you are interested please contact us for further details.

  • Financial Donations to assist compensation for teachers - During the past few years we have had several young brethren and sisters with no vested interest in the school provide teaching services. We would like to be able to offer a salary for young people willing to make this kind of commitment but are unable to do so. If tuition cost is raised to pay teachers, volunteer parents have to go to work to pay for tuitions creating a need for more paid teachers. “The hand of God has been good upon us” each year with either donations of time or funds, for “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
